Steve Lyons, Ford's North American chief, has stated that employee pricing programs such as Ford's Family Plan have a limited lifespan, which probably should be obvious to anyone who has seen the August sales numbers for GM. Ford, which I believe was the first to introduce employee pricing on 2006 models, will roll back the incentives on those newer models in an attempt to put the genie back inside the bottle. Models such as the '06 Expedition full-size SUV might still get the discount, which should come as no surprise considering market conditions are a bit flat for that type of vehicle right now.
