It might not power your new Ford F-150, or even a Toyota Echo, but it has won its fourth North American Solar Challenge and is on its way to the World Series — the World Series of solar cars, that is. The University of Michigan's Solar Car Team dominated the contenders to blast through 2,500 miles in just 53 hours and 59 minutes, making U-M the university with the most wins since the competition premiered in 1990. The team expects to sail on that momentum when it races in the World Solar Challenge in Australia in September.
