Alfa Romeo 8C Spider at Pebble Beach Concours
We didn't post on Alfa Romeo's 8C Spider concept being shown at the recent Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance because, quite frankly, the artist's rendering wasn't that exciting and the car was built only to fulfill Alfa Romeo's obligation as the featured marque to show at least one concept vehicle. Well, we have to thank J Zeke for pointing us to UltimateCarPage where photos of the 8C Spider, which Alpha created by simply decapitating one of its two 8C coupe concepts, and the show itself are hosted. That's one sexy looking drop top. BTW, there's a pic of the Bugatti Veyron in the background after the jump because I'm totally digging its two-tone paint job.

A Solstice with a Ferrari front and a Z4 tail.

The 8C coupe concept was the most gorgeous show car seen in the last few decades. Chopping the top and trading in for Alfa "phone dial" wheels didn't do anything for it. Produce the coupe, and sell it stateside, fast.

Wow....I think I am in love. Bella macchina! Very similar to the Solstice which says a lot for the outstanding job Lutz and friends did on the Pontiac....

If only Alfa Romeo came to the US-Canada market.

I concur, the Alfa is stunning. Exactly what that company needs to bring back the marque to the US. Visually stunning, lets just hope this makes it to production. At twice the price of a solstice it would be a steal.

I'd seriously drop a second mortgage on my house to acquire that car. My father's best friend restores old Alfa's...I think when I show him that picture he's going to cry at what he can't have...

That Alfa Spider is teh sexy...teh sexy indeed
I can hardly wait for Alfa to be back on these shores. One of my old co-workers from New Zealand was practically dying in agony while waiting for Alfas to make it back to the U.S.

Lovely. A future classic.
The Bugatti's cool, too, just a different look. Hi-tech vs. classic curves.
(And hey, they both did a great job incorporating the Subaru Tribeca nose.)

Ferraris have always delighted me. But worrying about Ferrari is a waste of time: the marque will survive and very well, thank you.
An Italian Car firm of more interest these days is Alfa Romeo. Especially with the unveiling of the 8C Spider. Should this car, and its coupe version, plus the Brera coup and spider be finally built and exported to the U.S., Italian sports cars with high HP and exotic design would be availible to those with less - than Ferrari sized budgets.
While I'm still mesmorized by the prancing horse, Alfa's return would mean Italian exotics at relatively bargain prices.

i think the bugatti is opening peoples eyes to finally doing away with the DRAB single color schemes that have infected the auto world.
two tones, three tones, give new cars some LIFE!

Not shabby. But an MX-5 or Solstice looks nearly as good for a better price.
