Toyota continues its push for performance hybrids with the upcoming Lexus GS450h hybrid. Based on the new GS sedan, the GS450h will feature a 3.5-liter V6 coupled with Toyota's Synergy Drive system. The story on performance is the GS hybrid will produced over 300 hp and can accelerate to 60 in less than 6 seconds. The promise is to return gas mileage in the mid-to-high twenties. We'd say 'duh' to the horsepower figure, with the 3.5-liter already offering a delicious 300 hp, but 'your mileage may vary' on the mpg estimates. Regardless, we've been itching for some serious time behind the wheel as soon as we heard about it months ago. There is something about 300 hp+ that makes a hybrid so much cooler. The car is set to show at the Frankfurt show next month.
