Rumors have been flying around this MINI enthusiasts website about a limited edition, lightweight MINI Cooper S. This Super Cooper will be the last hurrah for the current model that will be replaced by a more robust line of MINIs in 2007. Modifications center mainly around shedding 15% of the car's weight by using various carbon fiber body panels, acrylic windows instead of glass and lighter interior panels. While power is expected to equal that of the John Cooper Works-tuned MINIs, the lower weight combined with beefier suspension and brake components will make this the most manic MINI of all time. Don't get too excited, however, as only 2,000 are slated for worldwide distribution.
