Nissan treated Z enthusiasts attending the annual Z Club gathering in Syracuse, NY to the first official look of the 2006 350Z. Edmunds reports that the '06 Z features a revised front end (unfortunately not visible in the only shot we could find), enhanced interior, LED taillights, bi-xenon headlights and speed-sensitive power steering. Other additions include a new Grand Touring Coupe model with 18-inch front and 19-inch rear wheels. All six-speed manual Z cars now have the 300-hp version of the VQ-series 3.5L V6, while the automatics are rated at 287-hp. No mention of whether or not Nissan has retested its engines using the SAE's new methods had been made, although we'd be very interested to learn if the VQ engines would see a drop in horsepower like most other Japanese engines have.
