The Ford Fusion, as planned, started production in Mexico on August 1st, according to Ford. This will lead to the first deliveries of the car in September. Ford is said to be thrashing these first production samples much like it did with the Five Hundred and Mustang, both of which provided the Blue Oval with some much-needed smooth launches. Ford has yet to release projected sales volumes for the Fusion, since they're probably trying to avoid the sort of missed-sales-goal news reports that seem to get so much attention (and not the good sort) around here.
