Ford may spin off its Hertz, but the two companies have wrapped up an agreement that guarantees Hertz will buy cars from Ford until 2010. Of course, Ford has to help pay for advertising costs for Hertz. If Ford was still going to sell the Ford Taurus, we would say this is a necessary step. With the Five Hundred and Fusion, the fleet sales may not be such a large percentage of Ford-Lincoln-Mercury sedan sales. Good deal for Ford though, as they are now free to spin of Hertz and make some cash.
