Ferrari sending two cars on tour of China
Trying to rekindle the magic created by a round-the-world driving tour of an F355 in 1997, Ferrari will be allowing automotive journalists to pilot two 612 Scagliettis around a grand tour of China. The Ferrari's will leave Shanghai on August 29th and travel through every climate and terrain that China has to offer before returning to the city they left 45 days and 15,000 miles later. Fifteen international and 15 Chinese journalists will drive the cars that are bone stock save for underbody protectors, slightly higher suspensions and a few other minor tweaks to handle the rough roads they will encounter.

how does that work?
Even on a so called highway in China, In my 2 months there, I've never seen anyone able to go faster than 60km/h
On the streets (of a place like Shanghai), you'll be lucky to be going 20.
On the open road or near the villages , the roads are totally unpaved and without guardrails - also there's always a farm truck ahead of you.
and the final point which makes the very idea of giving foreign motoring journalists a ferrari to drive around in is bizarre, because to the best I know , it's illegal in China for non-citizens to drive a car.

I have no idea where you went to in china but I can tell you everywhere I have been in china they go 60km+. On the parkways in Shenzhen they do at least 100km in a 50zone! There doesn't seem to be much if any idea of common courtesy even the busses here will cut you off. One word of advice if you see a bus and youre crossing a road run they will not bother stopping.(I have been living in Shenzhen for the last four months and visited most of china)

its about flow of traffic, if theres room and the cars can, they'll do 100 anywhere
but i doubt this will be on highways...not many people there, these r likely to just cruise the places rich peeps hang out. if u selling FaLaLiS anywhere youd do that too

AznFX I think you have some picture of china 50yrs ago with peasants riding bikes. This is how ever not the case anymore. The highways have a lot of traffic and most of the cars here are a mix of what you'd see in Europe and North America but without any real enforcement of laws and very simple but costly licenses. Think how bad LA is then guess what it would be like without police control and you'd have an idea.
