Six Ford products including the Freestyle, Five-Hundred, Montego, Zephyr, Explorer and Mountaineer, will get a new DVD-based nav system in the 2006 model year. Besides being DVD-based, the new units will also feature audible street names in their turn-by-turn instructions. The Lincoln Navigator and LS feature current generation DVD-based nav systems while other Ford products, like the Expedition, will likely soldier on with current CD-based systems. Of all the nav systems we've dealt with here at Autoblog, the one in the LS has been particularly well liked for its ease of use, so we expect the new generation of navs to be even better.
