When an Albanian fisherman pulled in a 1,700 pound endangered leatherback turtle an Italian fish trader offered him a used Mercedes for the catch. Much to the chagrin of the Albanian Natural Science Museum director, the fisherman agreed to the deal and the turtle was reportedly off to a zoo in Rome. The turtle has faced extinction after years of being caught in fishing nets and traded for German cars.
