2006 Scion tC ready to ship
Believe it or not, the 2006s are already hitting dealerships and the Scion tC is due next week. Changes include a new three-spoke steering wheel and redesigned Pioneer head unit. The new head unit includes a mini-jack port in the center console that will allow most portable music players to be connected to the system. An iPod audio upgrade is now available. Two new colors, Classic Silver Metallic and Nautical Blue, are the only exterior changes. Prices increase $200 on all models moving the manual tC to $16,200 and $17,000 equipped with an automatic.

Actually, Silver Streak Mica and Indigo Ink Pearl are the old colors that are being retired. The new colors are Classical Silver Metallic and Nautical Blue Metallic. There were also some rumors about the AT going to 5-speed, but that doesn't look like it's going to happen.

niiice, steering wheel audio controls!! now you can just leave the radio "door" closed. that plus audio input jacks and a volume knob are the main suggestions for the new model, and sounds like scion was listening... now if only they'd come out with the supercharger at the same time. :)

I ordered a TC a couple of weeks ago. It should be in this week, will I get the 05 or the 06?

My dealer said the superchargers are built, at least the initial shipment, but they are just waiting for government approval. The nice thing is that you can have it installed later as a Dealer Installed Option, like everything else on the car. So, you can get one now, then come back and have them stick it on while still retaining your warrenty.
Yay to the stearing wheel audio controls!

I've got an 05 and I love it. I'd love, however, to get those steering wheel controls. I wonder if a retrofit is possible - probably not worth it as I'm sure it would only work with the stock head unit. Good job listening Scion.
Oh... as for the supercharger, it isn't held up for government approval. The company that built the ECU doesn't want to let Scion flash it for the supercharger - it wants to sell replacement ECUs with it, which will of course cost more and since there is no reason it can't be flashed, Scion is pissed. I heard they're either talking court action or looking for a new supplier. Either way they're built and the owner of my dealership has already driven one. I didn't get more details than that, although I heard he was smiling ear to ear.

tC is a great car, cheap but sporty. I'm alit big for it; but when the kids can drive something like this will be in the driveway.
PS- wish they had cars like this when I was younger.

The only thing missing is a six spreed (man.) I have 15,000 miles on my 5 speed & I still love it! (I am way over the age that Scion was shooting for).
I've had two Infiniti's, Hondas, Chrysler's (never again!!!!) other "Toy's" & this is my favorite car going back to 1972.
It is a great value-yet FUN!

I've been checking out this car for a couple of weeks, and everytime I see it I like it more and more. The white is my favorite color, the head unit and steering wheel are awesome, and the seats are cool too. I'll have my brand new shiny Scion soon!!!

I ordered an Azure Pearl 5 speed '06 Tc 3 weeks ago and last night it was ready to pick up. The dealer said all the '06 that have come have come in with the Ipod upgrade, that they had no choice of it to come without. It is outside in the parking lot of my job right now and cant wait to get back in it. I didnt mind traffic at all this morning. My dealer actually encouraged me to hold off for the '06 model a few weeks ago when I was ready to buy an '05. Glad I waited, you can tell the difference even though both cars were new, just the '06 was made a year later. I also encourage anyone who buys a new car from a Toyota/Scion dealer to get the Preferred Extra Warranty, it is unbeleivable how much it covers and it comes with lojack incase its stolen the police can find it. I like the XB, it looks funny and cool. The tC & XA are the ugly ones. But that just what I think. But if I had the money I'll go out a buy a 98 TT Toyota Supra, these are so nice.

Does anyone know if the tail light strip on the hatch lights all the way (its whole length) or just the center part (like in all the pictures I've seen)?

HI, I plan on ordering an 06 Tc in the next few weeks. I have to special order it beacuse they did not have the flint mica at the lot. I was just wondering if anyone had any knowledge as to how long it takes to get one in. The dealership told me a month to a month and a half (i am hoping it does not take that long beacuse I can't wait!) Has anyone had any bad experiences with this? Thanks!
