700 horsepower and a killer body, the Maybach Exelero may hint a new high-performance model from the ultra-lux sedan maker. The V-12 coupe is based on the Maybach 57 and designed to test a high-speed tire for the German tire manufacturer Fulda. The Exelero needed to surpass the 188 mph mark for Fulda. The super-Bach can get to 55 mph in 4.4 seconds with the help of two turbochargers and 740 ft-lbs of torque. We were amazed how finished the interior was. Click to see more pictures of this interesting concept. Thanks hp for the tip.

Exelero??? I would expect to see that name on a Kia, not a Maybach.

That car is definately Batmobilish! Give the front grill that bat-head shape and add the twin Bat-fins on the rear and voila!

Racism aside, considering its irrelevance, I think this car is great. Now we will see Maybach's rebirth into the 21st century and so forth, because my feeling is that DaimlerChrysler has huge and broad plans for Maybach-Manufaktur. This auto is stunningly futuristic in every which way and is sure to be considered one of the worlds finest super-coupes to burn rubber. Being a car designer myself, I consider this amazing set of wheels majorly road worthy and I can not wait to see its unveiling to the production market. I have many potential designs resembling the same futuristic styling whilst keeping a retro-spective under it all and I am eager to share the road with Maybach, regardless of what people have to say Maybach's Exelero is more than welcome in my driveway.

First i would like to note that i found some interesting comments concerning the new Maybach Exelero, and i find it very useful for people to share opinions on various subjects. As for the new concept, the whole project reminds me of Porsche's Cayenne. Since the beginning of Porsche's history, the company was know as a speed car productor. To my opinion and many other, Porsche was one of the most important leaders in fast cars production until they decided to create the 4x4. Their "Cayenne" is like a unfitting ring in a flawless chain. This same mistake is about to be made by Maybach. Since 1921, with the unveiling of the Maybach W3 in Berlin Motor Show, the company has been known as a leading Luxury vehicle productor. From the W3 in 1921, the W5 in 1926 to the Maybach's 57 and 62 today, Maybach has held the number 1 title in Luxury class cars. Therefor, it would be a shame to see a sports car try to fit with its superior ancestors. Do not misunderstand me, i never said that the Exelero is a hideous car or that its design is ugly, as a matter of fact i find the mix between Sporty and "Mafia-looking" make an exquisitly looking design, though some details can be reconsidered. In conclusion, the new Maybach concept shows a very interesting design for a sporty fast vehicle but its access to production might somehow ruin Maybach's Luxurious car productor title.

Shades of Merc CLS to the rear from a side view dontcha think? Does anyone else think the wheels look a litle small? more importantly what with things like this, the weismann gt and the morgan aeromax it seems we're seeing a return to the sort of car design that makes me dribble uncontrolebly. Hurrah!

I can picture the rappers ringing up their agents to put this car in their next video, LOL.

I only wished an auto manufacturer would've mass produced the Batmobile back when the first movie came out. That car was badass, and still is. I'm glad to see Maybach have the balls to design a car that obviously pays tribute to the Batmobile design.

"BTW, I think the car looks pretty cool. And it's black, so I obviously don't have any issues with black. I'm sure you'll figure out some way to make that sound bigoted...I'm just curious to see how you're gonna do it." i think you're just digging yourself a bigger hole. i like the color black so i have no problems with black people? what?! where did you earn your debating/oratory skills?

It's a stupid word...I know. I re-itterated it simply to exacerbate the point that I was dealing with a dufus. But point taken. I promise never to use that word in public. Cheers.
