Get ready for national identification cards and most likely huge tie-ups and costs at the Division of Motor Vehicles. The new rules were included in the bill paying for the U.S. operations in Iraq and Afghanistan, assuring that they would be passed. Several states are upset over the new rules that will put DMV workers in charge of ensuring the new ID Cards/driver's licenses are legal citizens and have the states foot the cost. The rules "are aimed at stopping illegal immigrants from getting driver's licenses to prevent them from boarding planes or entering protected federal buildings. States will have three years to meet the new standards that include verifying applicants are American citizens or legal residents." You thought lines were "beat your head against the wall" long now.
