The ruling against BAR-Honda by the FIA caused other manufactures, along with Honda, to found an association to represent their interests because they felt the rules weren't clear and BAR-Honda's punishment too severe. News also spread that the coalition wanted to start a separate racing series to rival F1. The FIA was none too happy and responded that manufacturers "should understand that any sport is likely to impose further sanctions on a competitor which attacks the integrity of the governing body when caught breaking the rules." BAR-Honda may have more to sit out than just two races.
