Toyota is not predicting slower sales but more spending. The company will spend more money this year to expand factories and on more research and development. "There's bound to be a pause as we invest more for expansion and R&D to secure future growth," said Toyota President Fujio Cho. The weaker dollar, high steel prices and tough global competition are also taking a toll on profits.
