2005 Scion xA RS 2.0

Toyota announces the next limited edition Scion, the xA RS 2.0. This time the little hatch gets a coat of Spectra Blue Mica paint, blacked out grille, fog lights and rear spoiler. Inside, the black fabric interior gets blue accents, a blue interior lighting kit, floormats with the xA RS 2.0 and a numbered plaque. Scion will offer 1,700 units for $1,035 over the base price of the xA. Sales will start in May. The xA pictured has optional 15-inch alloy wheels that are not standard equipment on the Release Series 2.0.

hey chris, people that complain about the horsepower in the xA/xB buy a tC. :-D

I only put two pictures of the car because it almost seemed silly to have a click for one shot and most of the other pictures for today were small shots so I wasn't worried about overbering the homepage. There's no favoritism or every story would have a picture of a 2006 Z06, and you don't see me doing that, do you? ;-)

I like the color and everything, it's just calling it 'RS 2.0' sure sounds like a sports version with a larger engine.

Yes, RS 2.0 does sound like it would mean it comes with a bigger (2 liter) engine, which would really make this little peanut start to get interesting. However, it probably is meant in more of a trendy/ techy way like version 2.0. This seems like more of a 1.1 to me, though.

Didn't Scion do this a couple months back with the xB 2.0? And didn't we have the same convesation about how it doesn't signify a 2.0 Litre engine.

About speed... I've gotten my xB, with only full-back exhaust added, and 18's, up to 130mph. Yes... 130. They can go fast, they handle great at that speed (turn oh-so nicely).

I was wondering, what's the best gas mileage anyone's actually gotten with the Xa? Has anyone been able to get better than 37 mpg with a manual transmission? It such a small car, it just seems like it would be possible to get better than 37mpg.

I'm planning to buy the Scion XA 2.0 the end of this month of July and just wondering if anyone know how many units left in any Toyota/Scion dealer? I believe they made only 1,700 units. If anyone know please reply!

boring appearance package - the 2.0 follows the original rs 1.0.

If you are complaining about the engine then don't. People who are going to buy a scion are people who would'nt likely care about the engine or they would go get a focus or cobalt with more power. The scion offers style not speed, but it isn't so underpowered that you can't get around. If you must have more power than get the TRD accessories to boost it.

I just bought the Scion XA 2.0...and I love it! I fill up on 20 bucks and it lasts me like a week and a half, i have 500 miles on the car already and only used 1.25 tanks of gas...its not that slow either...im not the kind of person who needs speed, but i will be using TRD accessories to make her a bit faster for fun....but man its a great buy....im very happy
