The Chinese automakers have gotten to Edmunds. In this overview of the Changfeng concept small minivan (it doesn't look that small, but is) that debuted this week, Edmunds asks "Has anyone in the U.S. ever tried to design a cheetah-shaped car?" Remember back in 2002 when Infiniti debuted FX45? They called it the "bionic cheetah". And the first car we thought of when looking at a small picture of the Changfeng Cheetah was the FX. The odd shape of the windows and super-size grille distances this van from the taught FX. We're not as convinced as Edmunds is with China's "top designs" just yet.

FX fluid lines, but mostly an Isuzu Vehicross without the cladding.

...and there was another Cheeta during the late 1960s, a Chevy-powered sports car meant to take on Ford's Cobra -- but mostly on-the-track. The Cheeta turned out to have poor weight distribution and never had much success but it did have the cat-theme front end.

Grammar check... It is "taut" not "taught."

I guess, this is an example of "Chinese Design" when they don't use the Xerox copying method.

Honda claimed the most recent Accord's "styling and demeanor are supposed to capture the spirit of a cheetah."
Mentioned in just about every review I read of it ... such as this one http://www.edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/FullTests/articleId=76668

Hey wait, I thought the Chinese were protesting the Japanese a few Autoblog articles back? I guess they must not be too upset at the Japanese to want to copy their designs.

wow, that's the ugliest car ever...
well, maybe tied w/ the pt cruiser for ugliest car ever.
if that's what the top designers are kicking out, maybe there is hope for GM!

The only things cheetah-like are superficial... the headlight shape and the side mirrors. I've never seen a cheetah as tall as it is long. Cheetahs are lean, not bulky with sharp points.
