Due to slumping sales of the Jaguar X-Type workers at the Halewood factory in England have been getting a lot of days off. Jaguar has not said whether the plant will go back to a five-day schedule. Currently after a full week of downtime, next week will only see three days production. Worldwide, only 12,500 X-Types have been sold, 8,707 of them in the U.S. The new diesel and estate variants have actualy helped X-Type sales across Europe. Land Rover plans on building the next Freelander at the Halewood factory, which would come as a welcome addition to production numbers.
