Official BMW 3 Series Touring images
BMW even surprised GermanCarFans.com when they leaked teaser photos of the new 3 Series Touring wagon ways ahead of when it was expected. The wagon includes a flat-load floor and a flip-up rear-window hatch. The BMW has a very strong D-pillar and taillights that don't really work with the package. The rear is the weakest link to the sedan and that carries over to the wagon. More pictures at the link.

It looks pretty tidy to me, one of the better looking wagons out there with the exception of the 9-3 sportcombi (fwd, yuck!).

I agree with the author's point about the rear tail-lights not working so well on the 3. They are to big, BMW tailights are know for being horizontal, not half-sideways large diamonds. BUT, that said, the tailights do look better on the 3 wagon than on the sedan.

After just seeing the Audi A3, this no longer looks nice at all. BMW, wake up.

Looks almost as good as the 2005 Legacy wagon... almost.
For some reason the new 3 series design looks much stronger as a wagon than a sedan.

I'm looking forward to 2007. Here's my ideal:
1. TDI engine: mileage in high 30s or 40s.
2. Station Wagon. Need the cargo, don't need the 4WD with a set of Hakkapeliittas.
I'm not crazy about the 3-series. The Audi A3, the Passat Wagon, whatever Jetta Wagon/mini-suv might come out, the 9-3 SportCombi, and the Volvo V70 are on my radar screen.
Absent that, I'd consider a Land Rover LR3 with a diesel engine. That truck just rocks.

I wish they gave the Touring some bespoke taillights like Beemer usually does for their estates.
