In what sounds like a headline from Indy Car racing years ago, is actually the results of the Infiniti Pro Series run this weekend. Marco Andretti, son of Michael and grandson of Mario Andretti took the checkered flag in his first IPS race. Al Unser, son of Al Unser Jr. and Arie Luyendyk Jr. landed in the top five, in a salute to the winning bloodlines that begat them. The 18-year-old Andretti fought despair and disappointment on Saturday when a close friend was killed in a car accident and the pole position was taken away for a technical violation. The pole was restored though winning an appeal.
