Surprising, but true. Flint shows another side of himself by calling Dan Neil's attack on GM "mean-spirited and off-base".  Flint does agree that pulling ads from the Los Angeles Times wasn't the smartest move either. His solution sounds the sanest: GM should have taken the space to print a rebuttal, which may have gotten GM some sympathy, instead of taking its toys and going home. GM already has a hard time in the Asian-heavy California market, why make it worse?
