Even though Honda is one of the leading hybrid brands in the U.S. they're also looking into the possibility of bringing diesel engines to North America. But the problem of stringent U.S. emission standards seems to be holding things up. I'm still not sold on why you'd need a diesel engine in a Honda. They already get pretty good gas mileage and they offer hybrids. And then there's the fact that most Americans don't see diesel as a viable alternative.
