Duesenberg Torpedo to make comeback in 2007
If the Minnesota-based Duesenberg Custom Coach has their way, the next Torpedo will be on the market by January 2007. The car is penned by California designer Jeff Teague. The car would use a Mercedes CL 500 as a chassis-donor and offer approximately 300 horsepower in a lightweight package. Duesenberg is also lining up a motorcycle to use the same twelve-cylinder engine that will power the Torpedo. Duesenberg Custom Coach owns the Duesenberg trademark for use on the car. The nose needs a bit of work in our opinion.

You are right about the nose. Definitely too much Bentley Continental GT in the design.

Rear reminds me of the Crossfire a little. The same V-12? The chopper had V-8 and mentioned Chevy V-8? Anyway, get rid of the quad headlights and go for two huge round dual lights and it might start looking a little more Duesy.

Interesting... I love the side profile on the Torpedo but I agree that the front end isn't quite right yet. I've always liked Duesenbergs, so I am looking forward to this car making it to production. It's definetly a much better execution of the original concept then the Lincoln continental/Stutz lookalike Exner Duesys of the late 1960's.

I like the side view too, although I think that the views don't match. Based on the 3/4 view I should be able to see the healights and the side angle of the grill when looking at the side. The windshield slopes don't match either. Hopefully these are two different possible styles rather than one style from two views.
Lots of promise though. Oh and a motorcycle with a 300 hp V12? Who'd be crazy enough to drive one of those?

Awesome!
The Duesenberg "Mormon Meteor" sold for $4.455 million last summer.

I hope it ends up with more than 300 hp. I'm tired of the ugly Rolls-Royce Phantom and the Mercedes-Benz sedan badged as a Maybach.

I wanna know detailed info on how the V12 is built to get 70 MPG. That is awesome; with fuel getting more expensive, building a full line (4,6,8,maybe 10 cylinders, or not.)with the fuel saving tech, and their respective cars, and the they would sell like hotcakes.
