New York Auto Show: Updated BMW 7-Series
The slightly revised BMW 7-Series surprisingly fit in well with the new 3's more refined design. The 7 loses what I called the "eyebrow" look. The droopy round cutouts get a cleaner look and the overall design gives the front less of a "scowl". Inside the, the wood reminds me of fine furniture. The rear shot did not come out, so I used a stock photo from the press kit. The high trunk is still there, but the taillights take away some of the look.

That new 7-Series was really nice, I would certainly rock the 760iL. I'm glad to see the aesthetic improvements, it really makes the car more attractive.

Cadillac should be thankful that BMW has chosen to ruin its entire lineup with putrid styling. The revised 7 series still is plagued by awkward styling inside and out and questionable ergometrics with i-drive. The 7-Series may look "better" but it will never be good looking.

So the new 7-series has the same front end as the old e46 3-series coupes:

Here's a rear shot of the car at the show, since you said yours didn't come out

Avixe, you beat me to the punch. That's the first thing I noticed with this new 7-series: It's the old 3-series only in 6/5ths scale. Well done, BMW!

That chrome accent line across the trunk bugs me. I noticed that the new A6s have that feature too. Whenever I see that I'm immediately reminded of the Chevy Malibu. :-P

I don't care for the revised styling. I do like the initial changes to the 7 series...but don't care for the brand new look...especially the back end. The previous back end looks so much nicer.

The new 7 series is still ugly and heavy as a pig.
Check out this 7 series

Why did they change the 'eyebrow look'? I liked the eyebrow look better. It just looked more sophisticated.

Forget the style, talk to someone that has owned a new 7 Series (2002+). There is no more unreliable car in the universe, and to make matters worse, BMW knows of the problems and tells no one. This is a crime.
Try getting a hold of any one at BMW and you will get the run around for days.

Dear Mr. Purves:
I have tried to reach you via telephone to no avail. You have successfully locked yourself behind layers and layers of individuals who are expert in ensuring that there is no chance of obtaining a satisfactory answer to customer service related issues and no chance in reaching any one at BMW of North America that even remotely cares about customer satisfaction.
During the past two years my 2002 745 Li has been in a nearly constant state of disrepair. While it has only been in the shop every 2 3 months, the litany of problems is incessant.
Two weeks ago the car died due to a known problem that I was never made aware of and I made every effort to contact BMW to request an end to the torture of driving this vehicle. I specifically requested that BMW take the car back and cancel my last three (3) lease payments. Today I received word that some regional director who has never even bothered to speak with me directly, reviewed my request and it was denied.
I requested that this information be sent to me in writing and was advised further that I must submit a request in writing to have you advise me in writing that my request has been denied. This letter shall serve as my formal request to BMW that in the event that you are not willing to take back your piece of garbage you refer to as a vehicle and cancel any remaining payments, that you notify me in writing of such via facsimile on (number removed).
Mr. Purves, how you can run a company like this is beyond comprehension. What your company is doing is not only unethical, but a crime. You are fraudulently misleading consumers and compounding this with a complete lack of customer service.
Sincerely,

I hope they don't mess up the 6 series as well...I think the people at bmw have had a little too much beer, all the refreshed models look like crap (except for the 6 series)

Yes, i do own a 2003 BMW 745I. Has then been any problems with it. No. None at all. I know 5 other people who have BMW 7 series. All 2002+, and all love them and have no problems. The new & series look amazing. I still like mine, but the new ones really do look alot better. As for the problems of the 7 series, talk to anyone who works on german cars. BMW has the least number of problems in their cars. Go get a S class, not olny is its styling old and out dated, it is slow and has bad corrning. BMW and Audi remain the Best German car companies. For those who dont like the styling of the new 7, fine your tast. But as for problem in the 7, just stop making an ass of your self. No one said you had to buy one, BMW is making plenty of money with out you anyway.
