New York Auto Show: Cadillac DTS and Escalade ESVe limos
GM is using the NY Auto Show to debut to the public two Cadillac Master Coachbuilder built limos, the DTS with a 70-inch wheelbase extension and the Escalade ESVe (e stands for "executive") with a 40-inch wheelbase extension. More pictures and info at the link.
Both vehicles feature a multi-media center; the DTS has a 22-inch LCD TV in the partition, AM/FM/CD/XM, DVD player, wireless headphones and a tablet PC. The ESVe kicks it up a notch with a 26-inch LCD TV in the partition and a second 15-inch LCD in the ceiling for rear facing passengers, 5 channel stereo system, AM/FM/CD/XM/DVD/MP3, 14 speakers to pump it up and a satellite TV system for more than 125 channels of viewing pleasure.
Both cars seat six in the passenger compartment with the ESVe granting more room for large captains chairs for four passengers.

does the DTS limo remain FWD? seems like it might be a pain to have to 'pull' that much length vs. pushing it. maybe?

When will we dumbass Americans ever learn to make the rear doors bigger? Limos are mostly used by one or two people, not 6. There is nothing I can't stand more than trying to wiggle out of a small door opening in such a large car. Have any of you seen a $6 million dollar home with a tiny standard 24 inch front door? How about with garage doors that only a Mini Cooper or golf cart could fit through? This is how a limo is supposed to/should look, http://www.autoblog.com/entry/1234000357033359/ Using the same door to save cost is not building anything classy , just keeping things tacky like umm... most of what we build.

Caddy doors are not exactly small...I mean, if you have to "wiggle out," what car do you drive normally when you're not in a limo? I mean, you have to be massive to have problem with Caddy doors.

Yea BJ, maybe time to lose some weight. The rest of us don't have much trouble getting in and out of limos.

I was wondering the same thing, why the doors are so small, especially the front ones. The back doors aren't exactly from barns either. People who buy these would have body guards, seems to me there should be middle doors as well for them to enter through. They use to make tour limos with rows of doors.
CEOs and top-level managers would need to travel together, which explains 6-seating.
People who complain about blind spots on smaller cars should try backig one these.

The ESV is real some hip-hop'ness. If you put some Giovanna Trento7 26" Dubs on there it would be some real bling blingin goin on.
