Smart CEO Ulrich Walker is biding his time. Mercedes won't make up its mind about expanding Smart to the U.S. until April, but for now the company is designing the next generation ForTwo to meet U.S. regulations. The new ForTwo won't be ready until 2007 anyway, and the ForMore SUV is still waiting on a go ahead as well. It sounds like Smart is just in a holding pattern with regards to the U.S.
