Honda Civic Concept - European Spec Five-Door
Here's the european-spec Honda Civic five-door concept. Most of the same themes as the North American version, but with a hatch and hidden rear doors. A little more progressive than what we were shown here. Lots more pics at the link.

The front view has similarities with the acura (the headlights) ... the side profile has similarities with the honda accord ...and the rear looks like a prius ...
but the best looking concoction :)

It has that same segment redefining look as the CR-X did some 20+ years ago!
I like it a lot!

I normally hate when cars have taillights that go completely across the back of the vehicle, but this works really well. I have never seen a headlight treatment like this and I definately like it

i think it tries too hard

Hmmm...Si concept - nice. This concept? Not so much. The unibrow across the front is really pretty awful. Cars should have distinct headlights. This thing could is just another Japanese space pod. I'm not impressed.

I don't mind the overall shape, even kind of like the long windshield, but the headlight/taillight treatment is hideous.
Looks like they've made the seam between the rear quarterpanel and the bumper almost vertical, from the wheel well to the taillight; this strikes me as a good thing, because the bottom corner of the quarterpanel, right behind the wheel well and above the bumper seam, is a notorious rust spot on older Civics (like mine -- need to fix it again...).

Overall it looks like a mini Nissa Murano.

I agree 100%. It lacks a pair of nostrils to breathe me away.

"people like it because it's a Honda"
Huh? If I have to compare a Civic vs. a Neon, I'd take Civic any day. Nevermind styling or price, driving them alone makes it an easy decision as to which is the winner.
If the concept above is trying too hard, what about the Neon SRT version? How about the Cobolt SS? Throwing in big spoilers and changing taillights don't make a car go faster.
While the headlights and taillights are debatable here, the overall shape of the car is fresh. The line from the hood to the front windshield almost blurred seamlessly. The hidden doors for a hatchback is new to me. Overall, I think it's nice to see some new design to an overall bland market in compact cars.

I like it, but I *really* like the color more than anything. The front and the sides are OK, but the rear end is really "busy" looking.

If the North American models have half the styling of this they have insured themselves another spot on the top seller list. Imagine a sharp looking Civic that can move out of its own way!

I dig it. The front end definitely shows a family resemblance to its Acura cousins, but with glass over the grill. I don't really mind the Geordi LaForge look. I like the forward sloping overall line of the car and the clean rounded tail, but it looks as though rear visibility could be a problem, even if the black area below the spoiler is a window (similar to CRXs.)

Do I love it just because it's a Honda? No.
Do I love it (minus the aforementioned headlight unibrow)? Yeah, I'd take it.

This is the best implementaion of the "four-door" coupe concept yet. All the others (Saturn, RX-8) look awkward to me. These rear doors are far more subtle. If only it would actually look like this when it gets produced, but I don't have my hopes up.

The style on this concept is bold and daring for the mid-size market in the US.
I love the carry-over of the front unibrow to the rear (or vice versa) - certainly beats a standard "grill" design that's for sure.
Love the wiper design - nice.
The rear doors has already been done by Alfa Romeo - but as it's not available over there, then it matters not as most will be oblivious to the stealing of the design (which is 5 years old IIRC).
Colour (color!) is neat - certainly looks the part for the intended market sector.
Rear is also nicely done, but the exhausts and the rear diffuser won't remain, neither will the front end - without heavy modification to enable access to engine and for less costly replacement of bumpers if an accident should occur.
Sadly as with all (nearly if not completely) concept cars, they tantalise and create desirability, but the production result is often diluted too far to be pleased with.
Begs the question, "Then why bother?"

I like it... but I won't buy it... Im one of those AWD fiend and know Honda will never do anything so smart as make a Civic with AWD. God forbid, that actually might cost them some of there SUV sales... And that is suppose to sound sarcastic by the way...

It's a new and fresh design for Honda. Build it as is.

I currently own three Honda's. Two Civic's and an Accord. I love it and hope it means Honda is serious again.
