The ultimate in parts sharing – Maybach 57 S
What else do you do with 6.0-liter bi-turbo V-12s after making the Mercedes Benz S65 AMG the darn-fastest super-luxury car? Put it in you super-duper luxury marque, the Maybach and make that the darn-fastest uber-luxury car. How will you be able to tell that your 57 S from the hordes of more pedestrian 57s out there? The monochrome paint scheme, new front bumper/grille design, new tailpipes and 20-inch rims, along with the "S" badge will give it away. Inside, the growing-in-popularity piano lacquer trim adds to the visual sensation while an upgraded suspension keeps the 612 hp engine in check. When you definitely have to be there quickly and in the grand-manner, the 57 S will get you to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds.

Wow, it looks even more like a Kia Amanti with the new grill. Why would you spend that much on a car that looks like a bloated, less refined, S-Class? It makes no sense.

You'd spend that much because it's a lot more refined than an S-Class inside and because S-Classes are *far* more common (and *far* less expensive).
And I doubt Maybach are copying Kia - the other way round, maybe, but Maybach can't be faulted for that.

I'm not suggesting they're copying anyone, just that the design is so unbelievably pedistrian it can befound virtually anywhere.
And when you look at the Maybach against others in its class I don't think you can make a compelling argument.
You have to assume immediately noticable cache is on buyers' minds, and the RR, for instance, has that in spades compared to this.

I actually think this looks a lot like the Hyundai XG350. The grilles are almost identical.
