The Associated Press reports that NJ animal rights activists are unhappy with the recent introduction of Road Kill Gummi candy. In an open letter to Kraft foods, Stuart Rhodes, President of New Jersey Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, says the fruit-flavored, partially flattened candy snakes, chickens and squirrels (complete with tire treads) sends the wrong message about animal welfare to impressionable young sugar addicts: ""There is nothing funny, intentional or accidental, about an animal getting run over by a car."
