Detroit Auto Show: Best Concepts Part 1
There were some really cool concepts this year. My favorites were either ones that could easily make it to production in the near future, or offer one innovation that could help the industry as a whole, even if the concept itself sucks. The Acura RDX fits squarely in the first category and makes my wish list. Acura should be thinking of a smaller SUV and then they can beef up the popular MDX a bit (not too much though!) and compete with the BMW X3 and X5, Lexus RX330 and GX 470 etc.

I'm going to go ahead and agree with you on this one. The RDX is a great little CR-V clone, if they keep it mostly the same and don't dull it up too much. I'm also a huge fan of the Aura, simply because a part of me desperately wants to see Saturn survive. Don't ask me why, because I don't know. The Gladiator almost seems necessary for Jeeps brand, simply because of the added utility of a truck bed. (I may be bias though, since I'm a truck guy.) I also *really* like the Nissan Azeal, simply because I often get bored with Honda and Toyota's (and especially the big 3's) small car solutions.

Well? What about the rest of the post? You're leaving us hanging! :) I was interested in hearing what you thought was the best innovation.

Ray,
Hence the "Part 1" in the title. Patience

This is not on the CR-V platform. Get that through your head. This is build on the European Accord platform.

Maybe it's just in my mind's eye, but doesn't the RDX look a bit Murano-ish? That's what I see... don't know if the price points will make it a real head-to-head, but just from the looks...

Steven, that made me laugh! Thanks for the info, though, cuz no one else has filled in the blanks about the underpinnings on the RDX.

I thought it was going to ride on the TSX underpinnings?
