Acura rolls out RL A-Spec, Honda announces new Civic
Acura has actually widened the body on this A-Spec Concept, The RL is already a capable sedan and the A-Spec will add 20-inch wheels, a new grill (that does nothing for me), spoiler and high-flow exhaust. Again it looks like there won't be any engine upgrade if the concept makes it to reality. Also this morning Honda announced an all-new Civic in 2006. That includes a new body and four new powerplants and 2, 3, 4 and 5-door bodies. Don't get too excited, those body shapes will be offered globally. Expect the US to be saddled with the same boring layouts we have now. No mention of when or where we'll see the new Civic and Honda has no news on when that might be.

Would you STOP showing that Saturn Aura!!! Wait a min... this is the RL A-Spec... OH OK, Now I know where GM got its styling cues from.

Now that's a nice RL. The standard one is about as boring as Honda verbaly giving us the Civic information with no visuals.

honda has to step up for its new civic.
I had a chance to drive mazda3 few weeks ago and I became one bitter ex-7thgen civic owner.
much more power, better interior plastics, and tighter chassis... other than flimsy 'thunk' when closing the door, it was a revelation of sort, just how much these little cars pack in value nowadays.
as ex-civic guy, i sincerely hope the next civic hits the spot again... a proper si/sir in a coupe form with 200bhp would be nice...

ebp2k2, yes, I definately agree. They need to make a coupe si/siR. As a fellow civic owner, I was thoroughly ashamed in the production of the current Si civic. I'd say that a turboed 200-230bhp coupe could make it up to us Civic lovers...
As for this article. It is somewhat confusing. Says that the new civic is announced for 2006, but then says that Honda has no mention of when or where we'll see it. It also says not to get excited that all those models would be offered globally, but then says that the U.S. will get saddled with the same boring ugly models. Who wrote this?

LOVE the look of the concept RL--just wondering though, their talking 2006. I've been waiting for one of the 1st A-SPEC pkgs for my 2005 RL which I purchased in Feb. 05. It was due first of Mar. and I just took it for the first maintenance and the only thing that I have is some nice flash chrome 20"s. Seems they could have built me a few of those custom concept RL's and beefed up the brakes and maybe a K&N. Here it is June and all the spoiler hasn't arrived and no shocks and springs (don't even know what they should be!) So what's up with all the talk and show but not have any available! Oh yeah they can keep the leather stiching!! just get me the head turning style and response and a little extra oomph (maybe a chip?) and I'll be happy. Just wondering how many concepts and shows before I really see it on my car?
