Detroit Auto Show: Mazda5
The small European van market that others have ignored (at least the non-retro part of the market) has now been taken by Mazda. While the Mazda5 was no big secret, the official pictures and info has just been released. The mini-minivan features a very adaptable interior and is powered by the same 2.3-liter four MZR engine that can be found in the Mazda3 (157 hp, 140 lb-ft). It will be available in Sport or Touring trim levels. The Touring level adds fog lights, rear spoiler and side skirts to the exterior. Both levels are outfitted with17-ich wheels. More pics inside. Bravo to Mazda for breaking the trend.

That looks great. I do sincerely hope it will have an available manual tranny.

Just bought a 06 Touring with automatic, in platinum silver...awsum car! Wife loves it, safety can't be beat, roomy enough for 6, looks great with the standard 17" alloys, body colored mirrors, rear spoiler, fog lights all standard! 6 disk in dash 6 speaker stereo, automatic temp control A/C, leather wrap steering wheel with cruise and stereo controls on it, lots of hidden storage and fold flat seating. Mazda had to design a flat, thinner gas tank for it to fit under the floor! Headlights and clear tail-lights are euro look, jeweled reflectors, moon roof with tilt up feature, power everything...all standard! And I got it for $1000.00 off list. Get one quick before word gets out and price goes up, and/or gouging starts! Steve
