Detroit Auto Show: Ford Shelby GR-1

Ford GR-1 Concept

What we've got here is supposedly the successor to the Ford GT. I guess Ford realizes that you can't redesign a retro redesign so the next logical step is to pick your next retro target, and there is no target better than a Shelby Daytona Coupe. Designed with Carroll Shelby in mind, the fastback body looks much cleaner than last year's Cobra concept. Just in case you are curious, the GR-1 stands for "Group Racer-1" ha ha. (Go, Group Racer! Go!) There's more inside.
