In a press release out Friday Subaru officially changed the name of their seven passenger crossover vehicle from B9X to B9 Tribeca. Yes the name Tribeca is a reference to the trendy New York City neighborhood. The press release says this name will resonate more with North American buyers than B9X. I think any name would be easier to remember than yet another X title. Of course I doubt anyone actually in Tribeca will be driving one but hey that's not the point.

Thanks to Jeffrey for the tip
