A group of tree hugging hippies, better known as U.S. environmental group the Union of Concerned Scientists, has named Honda the automaker that produces the cleanest vehicles. Surprisingly they were followed by Nissan and THEN Toyota. Ford, DaimlerChrysler and General Motors rounded out the list. Even though everyone slammed Bill Ford's Newsweek piece we posted about yesterday, GM was far worse than Ford as far as emitting more smog and heat-trapping gasses. In fact GM produces more harmful emissions now then in 2001. GM sited their big truck lines as the reason for the disparity but Ford's heavy haulers produce half, HALF!, the amount of GM's. Everyone who posted yesterday should now apologize to Bill Ford for being so mean. Of course they should all be striving for better numbers.
Thanks to Mickster, again, for the tip.
