GM and Fiat has been a match made in h-e-double hockey sticks. GM owns a 10% stake in Fiat and has a deal on the books that could force an entire purchase if Fiat decides to use it. Fiat's chairman, Luca di Montezemolo is looking to use more help from sharing GM platforms, as in the new Punto, but recent reports had them looking elsewhere for other partnerships with Honda and Citroen. Fiat was a can of worms that GM should have left closed.
