I remember when these modern marvels hit the road… I didn't even have a license yet, but Chevy threw one heck of a party in 1989 when they debuted the "King Of The Hill" Corvette ZR-1. The LT5 engine engineered by Lotus (remember they were part of GM back then) and built by Mercury Marine gave the Corvette ZR-1 (along with the uber-wide rear haunches and "rounded squares" taillights) bragging rights. This example happens to be a rare Turquoise Metallic (how dated!) Doug Rippie version, and a beautifully kept one at that. It was only 14 years ago but these pics brought me down memory lane.
