Getting ready to fill the gap that the soon departing Bonneville will leave in the Pontiac stable, GM introduced the Grand Prix GXP today.  The GXP will be powered by a new version of the 5.3 liter V-8, not the Northstar V-8 found in the Bonnie.  The LS4 V-8 will send power to the front wheels and use Displacement on Demand (DOD) to help up fuel economy.  The DOD V-8 will electronically switch off half of the cylinders in certain light-load situations.  The GXP also gets new front and rear fascias, bigger exhaust outlets, a cooling vent in the front fender and suspension upgrades to compensate for the heavier V-8 up front.  GM is quoting 0-60 times at about 6 seconds.  The GXP will be available spring of '05.  Best pics and information is available, believe it or not, at Pontiac's Fueling Zone on their website.  I think I'm in love…
