It seems Dale Jr. said a bad word during a TV interview and was penalized 25 points in the NEXTEL standings knocking him out of first place. He was also fined $10,000. Fining someone is one thing but taking away points seems completely arbitrary and just silly considering the context. Even though I'm not a NASCAR fan, it seems ridiculous that for a sport like racing this could even happen. I know NASCAR is trying to become more and more mainstream, but I'd bet Dale Jr. learned swearing before he learned to drive. I can't imagine what all the Dale Jr. fans are saying right now. It would probably be bleeped.
