The recently-unleashed official site for the new GTI offers a complete options list on the latest iteration of VW's famous pocket rocket, including a five-door configuration, a DSG gearbox, leather seats and electric folding door mirrors. The only engine is VW's new 2.0 liter 198-hp FSI engine, which reportedly combines the performance of a gas engine with the economy of a diesel. The base digits for a three door are £19,995, and but the base car is no stripper— it has dual zone climate control, 17-inch wheels and electronic stability control. The site even allows you to order your specced-out GTI, although you do still have to get some face time with your dealer to confirm your interest. Deliveries of the new GTI will begin in January 2005 in the UK. Hope the States will get it by 2010.
