That moratorium on hybrid coverage lasted a whole two hours. Sorry. J.D. Power & Associates released a study that says owners of 2001 model year hybrids reported twice as many engine problems as owners of standard gasoline vehicles. Of course this doesn't mean the 2004 versions have this much trouble but these issues could keep the average Joe from buying a hybrid anytime soon. Studies also show these same owners love their hybrids more than other car owners.
