In response to all those lawsuits against them, Ford is installing anti-rollover technology in the 2005 Ford Explorer, Lincoln Navigator, Lincoln Aviator and Mercury Mountaineer. How does Roll Stability Control (RSC) work? At the first sign of tilt the system slows the car's speed and even applies the brakes. That automated control sounds almost scary to me. If the system kicks in while making a quick left turn through a yellow light and suddenly the car slows down there could be problems. But maybe that's only in city driving like here in Chicago where oncoming traffic actually aims at you. Regardless the negatives don't outweigh the good such a system could provide for those that don't understand they're driving top-heavy vehicles to begin with.
