Leading off with a comparison to a Yugo is more than unfair for the peppy new Chevy Aveo, but overall USA Today's James R. Healey's review is dead on. Having taken the Korean-built Aveo around town for a week myself, I found it a pretty tight package with better interior styling than a lot of the more expensive compact cars on the market. Healey liked the inside too but was unimpressed by the handling & performance. He even suggests saving for a better, more expensive car. So does that mean every review should include this caveat? "The Civic is a good car, but if you saved your pennies you could buy a Corvette in 20 or so years." With car dealer ads already quoting Aveos at under $8K there's not much you can get for less.
